Strike 25
From the Strike 25 Programme:
COMMEMORATING THE 1984 MINER’S STRIKE THROUGH WOMEN’S EYES
What is Strike 25? Strike 25 is an intergenerational scriptwriting and performance project engaging young people from Ammanford and the Amman Valley with their heritage through research of the 1984 Miners Strike. Strike 25 has focused on the real life stories of local women from that time and how they were pivotal to the community’s struggle. Together with Ammanford Youth Council, Mess Up the Mess has used creative writing, multi-media, and performance to empower young people to connect with their cultural roots. During the 6 month project young people have created an original production alongside professional artists commemorating 25 years since the strike.
I was commissioned by Mess Up the Mess to lead multi-media workshops to empower young people to effectively use video throughout the production of Strike 25. I lead technical workshops in filming and editing. With the young people we included video projection throughout the theatre production in 11 different scenes. Some scenes included archival footage from 1984 which we were granted permission to re-edit and include in the final production.

Llwyth Trailer
I was commissioned by Sherman Cymru to make the trailer for Llwyth.
Tender and mischievous by turns, Llwyth takes a bold look at what it means to be Welsh, to belong, to be a man and to love.

This morning on a farm
This morning myself and two other artists, Fleur Missaghian and Cara-Mae Love, were on a rekkie at Green Meadow Farm. We were scouting out locations where we could audio record all types of nature and animal sounds, make land art, and hold singing workshops. These elements will form the basis of our workshops “SOUNDSCAPE LANDSCAPE” held at the farm 20, 21, 22, and 23 July to integrate young people to their community.
Compared to the first time I was at Green Meadow Farm a couple weeks ago the atmosphere was very quiet today. With over hundreds of animals on the farm, I wonder how many different animal noises we’ll be able to record?
Here’s a view of where we’ll be.
Play on SOund
It’s busy, it’s colourful, it’s friendly- it’s Malawi. Add to this contrasting Welsh folk songs and watch the affect of audio on the viewer’s visual.
PLAY on sound was filmed July 2008 off the Ilalah boat on Lake Malawi and this is the new re-edited version of June 2010.

25 Years
25 years in 6 mins and 19 seconds is one long memory of the life I’ve lived. It flashes with thousands of moments that represent me in 25 years of video footage. This is my life, my past, my reality, but I hope all viewers can relate with different images enticing them to recall their own lives. The images flash at an alarming rate allowing the viewer to grab hold of whatever the psyche can digest. 25 years in 6 mins 15 seconds represents the evolution that occurred whilst creating these memories along with the evident technological advances in video. My Name is Sue – Trailer
Hello all.
My Name is Sue was the hit sensation at Edinburgh last year: Winner of the Total Theatre Award for Music and Theatre, 2009. Sue is now going on Tour. She is hilarious and I can’t wait to see her in Cardiff. If you are in the UK you shouldn’t miss her performance, because she’s traveling all over! My Name is Sue is created by Dafydd James and Ben Lewis.
I’ve had the privilege of being asked to go to Sue’s home and make her Tour Trailer, which I’ve posted below. Don’t miss her. Enjoy!
