Hi, I’m Carolina Vasquez. A cross-media filmmaker based in Cardiff.
I work across platforms including theatre, film, and the web. Urban art, large outdoor projections, filming underwater and time lapses are peaking my interest these days. I shoot on a Canon 7D, GoPro, FlipCam, or iphone video (with apps) and edit in Final Cut Pro X. I’m experimenting with new ideas and learning everyday.
I’m experienced in leading and managing international projects on and off the web. Liaising with project partners and working out the logisitics of any given project has been paramount to my workflow.
My background is in Fine Arts with an MFA from the Slade School of Fine Art (2008), London. From an early age I’ve been involved in lens-based mediums, shooting on 35mm film and printing in the darkroom. Early on my interests included creating stereoscopic photos, printing on glass, and photo silkscreen printing. Though I no longer create work using these methods, their techniques are still visible within my filmmaking practice.
