We did this to pay tribute to the monuments in Barranquilla. When talking to the Barranquilleros of CuatrOOjos they felt not enough people knew about, respected, or payed any attention to the monuments of their city. As the CuatrOOjos team we made marimonda masks which are typically used during Barranquilla’s Carnival, very popular and loved by all. We placed a mask on the most important monuments of the city including Simon Bolívar, Cristobal Colón, and Santander. Through this we wanted to draw attention to the history and importance of these prominent figures.
